Thirst
This time his film, Thirst, was awarded the jury prize. He had previously won the Grand Jury Prize (Grand Prix) in the 2004 Cannes Film Festival for the movie, Old Boy, which was recently remade by Hollywood.
Thirst is a vampire flick and this is the film's promotional poster:
The film’s name in Korean is Bakjui or Bat which could explain the poster’s picture of a woman hanging upside down apparently like a bat.
Here is a synopsis of the film from the Korean Film Council:
Beloved and devoted priest from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turn for worse, he struggles to maintain what’s left of his humanity.
It stars top actor, Song Kang Ho, Kim Ok Vin, Shin Ha Kyun and Kim Hae Sook.
The movie was released on 30 April 2009 and here is the director and his cast at the press conference and VIP preview screening which was held in Seoul on 24 April 2009:
2nd from right is Director Park Chan Wook. The acting cast from left to right are Shin Ha Kyun, Kim Hae Sook, Kim Ok Vin and Song Kang Ho.
Here is the film's trailer:
Pretty awesome, don't you think?
I have to pass on this one though since I am such a scaredy-cat when it comes to horror movies.

Fifi Ooh La La!
And that, my friend, I’m sure you'll agree, is “the world’s most stylish bunny”.
Thanks Fifi (and bunny kisses xxx) for letting us into your world. If a rabbit can have it this good surely I, a mere mortal, can too, right? I can only dream.... Ah well, in the meantime, let me just chew on my carrot. Chomp! Chomp!

Flowers
Main cast: Kang Hye Jung, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Ji Hoon and Gong Hyun Joo
Directed by: Ji Young Soo
Broadcast period: May to July 2007
The story is about a girl by the name of Na Ha Na (acted by Kang Hye Jung). Ha Na’s parents ran an undertaking business. From childhood, she loved money and her life’s objective was to have as much money as possible. So she came up with a grand scheme to marry a rich man who was about to die and then inherit his money once he was dead. To achieve her goal, she left her rural hometown for the big city of Seoul. She decided to work as a nurse in a hospital in the hope of scouting a prospective (read that as rich) dying patient whom she could then marry. Pretty weird, huh? But then again, Ha Na was an oddball by her own admission. Well, meet a rich dying patient in the form of Yoon Ho Sang (acted by Cha Tae Hyun) she did. But here’s the catch. He was not rich BUT he was dying. What happens next? Watch this drama to find out. Trust me, it is well worth your time.
This is an excellent drama that tells the story of life and death in a humorous and moving way. It deals with the touchy subject of death but without its morbidity. It is about family, love and friendship all rolled into one. It is truly heart-warming and touching and is also funny. The acting, directing, soundtrack and cinematography are all great and it is definitely in my list of top ten Korean dramas.
Here are some pictures from the drama:
